Look ma! I’m in Napa!

(Taking a break from vacation photos…)

A friend and I decided to wander around Napa today and just shoot. It’s pretty fun to look at this town through photographer eyes instead of as a resident. What I shot today: Random lightpoles with funny stickers, the old building that I’d kill to have as a studio, people enjoying Angele’s patio, the striking colors of the Fish Story patio, the cool signs at Morimoto, the super comfy chairs at Tyler Florence, the river walk, the doors at the Uptown and random details throughout downtown.

Dan & Michelle’s Engagement Session!

Yes – this is post #2. You’ll recognize some of the same photos, but I’ve now moved my blog to WordPress so I wanted to test out a new photo size…

Canon 5D Mark II
24-105mm
I’ve known Dan since I was 19….so like 2 years now? Ha. Just kidding. I’m thrilled to see him so happy with Michelle – and she’s so awesome! Match made in heaven, those two. We had a great day of shooting around the Valley, with all of the fall colors and amazing clouds.

Lucas Pools – Post 2

More pools….

Lucas Pools – Post 1

Canon 5D Mark II
24-105 L Series Lens

I love being commissioned. It makes my subject so focused that it allows me to use my creative energy around that subject instead of coming up with everything all at once. I really enjoy it! Lucas Pools will feature pools they have done around Napa Valley. Pool 1 is below…my favorite photo is the first one…

Gettin’ Some Action…

Canon 5D Mark II
24-105mm Lens

Photoshop actions, that is. I downloaded some new actions and had some fun! These photos are from a shoot I did when I first got my 5D Mark II. This was quite a while ago and I’m bummed I hadn’t edited these before now. A lot of these are outside my comfort zone as far as style, but it’s been really fun to mess around with the curves and colors and all the different actions. Some of the actions I used were: cross processing, vintage, oversaturation, texturizers…and a lot more. I had so much fun!

After the “official” photoshoot, a couple of us went to Sonoma Square to be silly…hope these make you giggle…

This is The Ballpark Band’s official band photo! (don’t they look like a band?? Love it.)

This is The Ballpark Band after a long set, takin’ a break.
